HEALTH PROMOTION PROGRAMS is pleased to announce the Keynote Speakers for the 7th Native Women & Men’s Wellness Conference. This annual event is recognized as the largest wellness conference for Native and Indigenous people throughout North America. This will be a powerful gathering of Native women and men walking a path of personal wellness and providing healthy support for people in need within their families, work settings and communities.
Jeri Brunoe, of Brunoe Training and Consulting, provides customized staff development training for businesses, tribes, tribal organizations and those organizations which provides services to Native Americans. She also provides specialized workshops on youth development, community development, women's issues, Native American spirituality and philosophy and cultural preservation. Jeri continues to build her tool box of skills, knowledge and spiritual growth through education, research, spending time with elders and expanding her own comfort zones to walk her talk.
Don Coyhis (Mohican) is a member of the Mohican Nation from the Stockbridge-Munsee Reservation in Wisconsin. He is the founder and president of White Bison, Inc., an American Indian non-profit corporation that seeks “to bring 100 Native American communities healing by the year 2010.” White Bison is dedicated to developing culturally relevant treatment, prevention and recovery materials to support the Wellbriety Movement across Indian Country.
Don's upbringing on the reservation and his 15 years of experience in corporate America bring a unique perspective on community development issues, whether in the corporate environment or within the Indian community.
Terry L. Cross, MSW, ACSW, LCSW (Seneca) Terry Cross is an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation of Indians and is the developer, founder, and executive director of the National Indian Child Welfare Association. He has 33 years of experience in child welfare, including 10 years working directly with children and families and is the author of several culturally based publications on tribal child welfare and cultural competence.
